What do ya mean tranny popped out of gear? Was it the T-case That popped out? or the tranny fell out of a gear.

wyocat May 4, 2008 08:06 PM

tranny fell out i think i knocked it cause it threw me back

Seems like you were having a rough time controlling it...with a DD the grab is intense, if you don't control it properly you're gonna break things, 3rd gear pulls alot of power, alot of ppl lose 6th. Not intending to offend you, just pointing out human error can cause drastic effects. Hope you get it situated.

That sux.

What are your plans?

I suggest not thrashing your truck so hard. Drag racing a manual is alot harder on your entire drive train vs an auto.

I think you've found the limit of the g-56.

Unrulynfs lost his g56 a few weeks back, he wasn't hitting it hard when it let go but he has put it to the test in the past with 600hp, 9" of lift, on 40's and running in the 13's with that setup. Hope you get it fixed soon.

06megacab5.9 May 4, 2008 09:10 PM

my g56 went at 600hp at the track in a 2nd gear launch. broke main shaft and 2nd gear. the dealer warrantied it with a dual disk 3850 in it and the truck has twin turbos and cp3s

When I had an 05 i had a g unit sieze up on me as I was getting off the interstate. It locked up the rear end and exploded the clutch. That was at 20k miles and everything was stock.

Can't wait to get my 6 speed but it will be a NV....as my dad always said ....get good then get fast...Blaming Smarty for 3 missed shifts in a row...Blame Tupid...just messin with ya...I miss shifts at the track ..... and I race an auto...pretty exciting when the tree gets lit and your buds are watching. I hope you can wrangle a wreck....put the feelers out with a drivetrain post and you'll score one.......Short shift kit...weighted shift knob...think of it like a lady and not a dog and glider in smooth and firm...Good Luck, KS

Bummer!!! didn't Lloyd snap something in his g56 not to long ago too??(what did he break I never heard)Man I hope these G-units can handle a little more then that...I know Lloyd has some BIG hp so that does not surprise me but dang I dont like hearing about the guys with lots less then Lloyd blowing them up...let us know what you find and do with it!!

RAMRODD May 4, 2008 10:57 PM

Sounds like it is not exactly the trannys fault, you get it half way in gear and your letting the clutch out don't expect it to last.

Speed Shift May 4, 2008 11:15 PM

Well **** that sucks man. Like they said try to PM Unruley and see what he found, he is on that same road.

You guys are making me nervous popping these G56s, maybe I should get a spare.

Thanks for that ...[yuk]

Everyone wonders why it is so hard to get warranty work done. [laugh]

Let's review:

Modded truck...check

At a race track...check

Being intentionally rough on the truck, in an application is was not built for...check

So naturally Dodge should take care of it...[dummy][laugh]
