Dave is right. The Carli LT bags and the Deavers will make an enormous difference in the ride quality. I have also run the mini-packs (which I assume you have?) and the ride was miles ahead of stock. The 2.0 shocks make quite a difference too. I agree that your bags are your issue.

 

The Firestone's and Pacbrake airbags are a very sturdy, functional product that work as well as they can stuffed between the frame and spring. If you measure that distance,it's only 3"-4" or so. It's articulation is limited by its design. Carli's design being mounted inboard doubles or triples that travel. In fact,they sent me slightly longer bumpstops to prevent pinching the bag running low air pressure. The minipaks can't flex that much but the full leafs...
