Can't find room to mount my CB

Sure is going to be a stickler where to mount this and it is not a small one. Anyone one here still use a CB and have mounted in a truck like mine ?

Not sure which interior you have. Pics are my 06' SLT. Also, try search for Big Bob. He sell's various mounts.

Now that CB in the mega looks pretty darn good, that is if one doesn't spill a coffee or pop into it. Course it is on the other side so if the passenger was extra neat, no problem.

Genos will not fit the '06s though. The floor console is in the way. I have a CB that I used when I drove "big" trucks and I haven't decided if I want to go with some sort of mount like WJCP or mount in the depression under the climate controls.

I put mine facing upwards sandwiched between the console and the front seat. Used the seatbelt to secure it. It worked great and didn't cost a thing.

I mounted mine in the rear seat area rirght up against the center flip down and slightly to the passenger side. I can easily reach over/behind the armrest to get the mic(mounted on the passenger side for a easy grab as you reach back) and also see the display/controls with a quick glance over my shoulder. I did this so it would not look so ugly in the driver/passenger compartment, but still be there if I wanted to use it. I just made a bracket identical to the stock "under dash" mount but made it taller so it can be attached to the floor and the CB will point almost straight up. It doesn't really interfear with the leg room of the rear seat much because it is located in the center enough. Mind you that hardly never is anyone in my rear seat anyway. I'll take a pic if you like, but it does work great for me.

I simply mounted mine on the knee bolster, and put my heat under the driver side seat. I used a Gear Keeper for the mic.

PS I also have a Quad Race box that has been modified to handle up to 60W of power. Possibly more depending on installation locations, grounding etc etc .......... make me an offer I'm at 400W and thats too much

Gtpik, I am in the same boat. Got all my stuff installed but the CB now. I looked and looked, but they just took out too much room in the cab with the redesign. I had it on the knee bolster on my '99, bu there just isn't room on it with the '07....unless I want to bang my knees every time I get out. I thought about putting it on the side of the console, driver's side, but the seat won't move up enough for SWMBO to drive it. Hey....wait a minute....that may work. Nah, don't want to get beat on too much.

I suppose my only option would be pass. side of the consloe, get another small, compact CB or the Cobra 75STW and mount the box under the console or seat... Anyone else see another place? I'm not wild about the cupholder area. I can see it getting wet a lot.

It is just a Cobra 25WX NW ST.

Question......do you have a large bump below the steering column? If it wasn't for that, I might just put it back on the bolster and be done with it...but it would be on that projection too much. Of I put it on the bump, it will stick into my leg area way too much.

I cant remember... mine is flat for the most part, might be some bit of raised section right under the wheel? I just mounted the bracket below that and the CB was perfectly tucked up there...

Im 6' or 6' 1" depending if Im wearing cowboy boots.. haha - but really, do you sit with your legs together when you drive? I know it looks decieving having the CB there, but my legs are no where near that thing when I drive. And once you know its there, you hardly ever come close to hitting it while entering/ exiting the truck. I like it there - but everyone has preferences and thats a good thing!
