Maybe I’m wrong, but I think the 6th gear ratio in the 6.7-2007 trucks with the G56 have a higher ratio?

I also saw some rumors about taller gears coming available from the aftermarket.

I guess you could put in a NV, however those transmissions and their parts are hard to find.

Taller tires will drop a few RPMs too. (I didn’t want those because it seems they are harder on the front suspension and in some cases get you the DW)

In my case I bought the Gear Vendors OD unit. I couldn’t handle driving 55, or screaming unloaded at 2300 RPMs down the freeway for hours. In OD it drops 500 RPMs.

I’m happy with my GV, however it is expensive so had gears been available I might have jumped on them instead.

I would wait till someone starts making parts for the NV5600 before I would swap heard there where guys waiting months for NV56 parts, with out their trucks too

I would just wait for some after market gears
I love my G-unit since I changed to 315's(tires) I think it is perfect now.

I don't know why anybody would be having trouble looking for parts for an NV5600. Standard Transmission & Gear have tons of them. I'm sure other places like TransGear would have them as well. I've not heard of any shortages of parts. I just rebuilt my NV 4500 but was considering swapping for the NV 5600 and they were ready to ship one straight out to me. A buddy of mine just rebuilt his NV 5600 and said he had his parts in pretty quick.

There are modifications to be made if you try to use the NV5600 in place of the G56. I'm not 100 % sure of what all it takes, but a guy that pulls locally busted 2 G56's so he retro'd a NV 5600 in it's place.
