Has anybody in California got a performance tranny? If so where is the best place to get the tranny and about how much did it cost? I am looking at Goerend Brothers and for a complete tranny w/ VB, TQ, upgraded plates and a billet imput shaft they quoted my roughly $4000 which includes shipping both ways. I just want to find someone close, reliable and reasonably priced. Thanks

 

Where ya at? I have Dave's trans in my truck....it's a 2nd gen, but it'll give you an idea of what to expect.

I installed it myself, 1/2 a day with a trans jack and hand tools.

 

BellFlower Transmissions had my truck right now and they are doing an awesoem job with it.

 

Blew up my trany, so I towing it out to fred swanson in phoienx for a DTT.

I thought about installing it myself but I am a little skeptical about finding something to hold my motor up while I pull the tranny out. Any ideas? Was your tranny auto or manual? I think I could do the job myself I have pulled and replaced gas motors and such but the whole large, heavy diesel thing has me pondering where to start.
