Bully Dog Outlook Monitor vs A-Pillar gauges

Question for the group...

I just bought a new Bully Dog Triple Dog Downloader for my '06 with the outlook monitor. I was hesitant to buy the monitor considering I am getting a set of A-Pillar gauges (pyro, boost, tranny temp) as well.

Can someone please let me know the benefits of the monitor vs A-Pillar gauges? What more am I getting with the monitor (other than 1/4mi track times - which I don't care about)?

Thanks.

Adjustability on the fly! Priceless. Just reach over and push the button up and more power. No running the cord over the steeringwheel and leaving it under the consule or something. You can also set safety paramater's. Set it so the chip turns off when you reach a certain degree of temp. Recalibrate for larger tires gives acutal reading of speed. I checked it with my gps and it's right on. With 37's my factory speedo is 10 miles off! I opted to mount mine in the blind spot of the a-pillar and not use the mount for the a-pillar so I have a computed boost and a tapped boost reading along with a pre-turbo reading and post turbo. I have a pic pending approval just check my gallery a little later or I will post. You will love the monitor and guages!!!

Thanks for the reply. I am curious - how often do you change the performance settings on-the-fly? I realize this is a feature, but I was hoping to "set it and forget it".

Thanks...

I have A-Pillar gauges and the Edge Attitude monitor as well.

The adjustability isnt all that great. i leave mine on level 5 and go. You can just leave yours on Performance setting and drive all the time.

Not a fan of the monitor though. The A-pillar gauges respond quicker and seem to be more accurate.

Generally I just leave CL on and go but If I know I am going up a steep grade pulling I will turn the chip completely off and it only takes a second!!
It' better than roasting something!!

i am asking the same question, i have the outlook monitor mounted on the a pillar i really like it the only thing is i installed a quad boost fooler and the outlook reads fooled boost, i am looking for a pillar that has the outlook and 2 gauges above it so i can put in a boost and rail pressure gauge, any help is appreciated.

My Outlook monitor came with a peice that adapted to the a-pillar guage mount so that you can have 2-guages above it and then the monitor in the bottom hole or which ever hole you wanted. I didn't mount mine there due to the fact that if I needed warranty work I could pop mine off and remove it easily!! I still have the peice if you want it. I am also awaiting picture approval so that I can post a pic of my guages with the outlook.

Smokin06 PM if you want the plastic mount
