I would say yes, but you never know. The tranny will probably slow you down some. I would say ditch the Bully Dog and get a Smarty, Injectors, Turbo.

I dont know them duramaxs are fast with some good efi live tunes never ridin in one with that though...

He hasn't upgraded the fuel system yet, so I figure that will limit him a tad. Did a boosted 3rd gear launch beside a mustang. Side by side til I missed the 5th gear.

Dont put any money on that race. If he has the PPE hot, they are pretty nasty. Fuel system upgrades are not as critical on a D-max as our trucks.

Yeah them duramax's are quick, I think I would have a hard time keeping up with one.

Are you the 'Pro Mod' Bounty Hunter that runs at Red Line sometimes? Leave hard on him and dont miss a gear and it will be a good race, prob. close though. Ryan

well a handshaker againist a manual isnt really fair. he will probably eat your lunch. a duramax with just a downloader can make 500rwhp and maybe more, but they are still an IFS front end truck is the way i look at it

Ditch the drag racing and play tug-of-war with that flimzy junk bucket and show him who's boss!!!

Will he let you do a roll-on race? You should stand a pretty good chance then. Some of the toughest racing I have done with my 6 speed has been against my good friend with a 01 D-Max. He can 8 times out of 10 get the hole shot on me but around the 1/8 I pull on him very hard. Its hard to outshift an auto and even harder with that double disker you got. Get the ball in your court and do a 40 MPH roll-on.

If all else fails, get the tow strap and drag him backwards through a field to prove your Cummins superiority. [guitar]

race from a roll in second gear you will have a much better chance,

otherwise the ppe tuned d-max will blow your doors off ..............
