BOOST, Is this all I get?

I recently installed a Bully Dog Tri Dog with outlook monitor on my 03. The peak boost I read on the outlook is 16. My temps are not real high, only about 1190-1200 max. I have the de-fuel set at 1300. I have heard that with a stock set up I should get around 23-25 boost. Whats up? I talked to a guy with an 04 that has the outlook installed without the downloader (just using the gauges) and his boost peaks at 22 stock. Have I got an issue with my wastegate or turbo?

You will need a boost elbow and a boost fooler. The elbow restricts the pressure going to the wastegate and the boost fooler modifies the signal from the MAP sensor so the ECM doesn't defuel because of the higher boost levels.

Why do some trucks peak at higher boost levels at stock setup? Shouldn't the downloader keep from defueling as soon? Will the boost fooler foul up the signal going to the bully dog? (it also is connected to the map sensor)

What does the boost peak at in other modes on your truck?
I looked at the boost after installing the outlook and before downloading, it only changed from 15 to 16 psi. The boost builds quicker with the downloader, but hits the same peak and stops. I don't think it is defueling because of pyro temp because I don't even get over 1200 most of the time.

30 is max as far as i've seen even in xtreme mode, try bumping yer defuel up for a short romp and see what it does but dont get crazy.15-16 seems way low?

Quit looking at the monitor and get a gauge. Your probably seeing the fooled signal.

Fooled signal? I don't have a boost fooler installed. What could be fouling it up?

I don't know, but I feel your pain. My boost is peaking @ 20psi on my Commander. I have my wastegate tightened up to boot. Starting to think MAP sensor or boost leak. Maybe throwing high boost code back and showing detuned reading. I think it's time to get fooler, cheap way to troubleshoot and on the list anyway. Just a shot in the dark. Good luck.

When I had the Edge EZ on my boost wouldn't go above stock (22psi) even with the box set to 70hp. And the EZ does boost fooling. With the installation of the adjustable boost elbow the boost increased to 32-33psi. The same with the SMARTY loaded now.

Well, sounds like I had better try a boost fooler with an adjustable elbow. I think I can make an elbow with parts out in the shed. (street elbow and an adjustable flow control valve)
Where is the best place to get the fooler? How much is it?

That is what it sounds like to me. Maybe a problem with the BD. When did you install the BD/outlook? Together or was the outlook a later purchase? If later did it run right before the outlook? What is your max rpm? Mine was like 3500 with bdtd/ez stack. Do you have a FP gauge? Try driving the truck with the BD completely uninstalled and see what you get. Does the Outlook monitor require you to tap into the intake for boost or is it computerized? I only trust hard wired, drilled and tapped monitors. This may sound crazy but a friend of mine had his wastegate get stuck just slightly open and he had a similar problem.

You can get the boost fooler from the DTR.
