Blackstone Labs http://www.blackstone-labs.com

I got my oil kits from Genos. They go to Monitor Labs - offer 3 cities to mail to - Houston, TX; Indianopolis, IN; Salt Lake City, UT. Then you can check th tracking ID# on their website www.trackmysample.com and print out your report.

Piece of cake to do this stuff, really fast service. I mail my sample bottle inside a small box instead of just mailing the plastic jar. It gets there faster. The plastic jar signifies the mailing of a bio-hazard so the PO handles them differently and takes more time routing them in special containers. Put the label on the jar and make a separate label for the box.

Besides you engine oil, you can also send samles of your diffs, tranny, transfer case and brake fluid, and 'others'. Sure could go a long way in the 'peace of mind' regarding choices of fluids in your drivetrain if you are 'between' using a reg duty vrs a heavy duty fluid in your axles. I plan on sending in a sample of my diff, tranny, and transfer case when I change them in a couple months. I live in a very dusty place, if the current vents are taking in the dust I will see it in the reports and then go to adding a vent filter like those used on the fuel system mod.

I would GO TO THE DEALER and report these findings. Your warranty is almost up and if something goes after 36K, you are on your own. Notify them and get something IN WRITING from DC to show that they are aware of the problem....

Are you running any power boxes??

05mxdiesel 09-20-2006 08:56 AM

First off give us all the info written on the report. I've had copper linger a little in the past two samples which at highest was 7ppm.

36K on drivetrain?? Us canucks get 100K miles on our engine and drivetrain for 2006. And no that isnt the extended warranty!

Motor and cummins system parts should be 100k miles! My '06 is!

Yes, get it in writing!

pet05 09-20-2006 03:05 PM

They changed the warranty here in USA to 3/36K on 2005+. That includes the Cummins warranty. :(

My engine still came with the 100K mile warranty. And for $400 I went to the 5yr/50K Bumper to Bumper excluding normal wear and tear.

QWKRTNU 09-20-2006 03:54 PM

My 05 I got the 100 on the motor and 7/70000 on the drivetrain and I got the 5/50000 for the 400 more also

alum. 4 chro 2 iron 31 copper 104 lead 10 tin 0 moly 616 nickel 1 mang 1 silver 1 tit 0 potassium 3 boron 13 silicon 12 sodium 14 calcuim 3798 magnesium 10 phosphorus 1270 zinc 1391 barium 0 <0.5 fuel antifreeze 0.0 water 0.0 insolubles 0.5 truck has 100k WarrantyTBN was 9.3 high soot level figured that part was due to the 05 trucks triple fire inj. but I also had the valves adj. thinking some of this might of been due to the valve cover being off worked on

QWKRTNU 09-20-2006 09:40 PM

this might be a dumb question. What are the tolerances on all of these? Where did you find it at? What is good and what is bad? Thanks

stang 09-20-2006 09:59 PM

only thing that is high is the copper or out of spec. for the avg. and lead avg on lead is 3 on copper is 4 this is all in ppm. figured the copper is comming from the turbo (overspeed) lead not to sure but I did talk to blackstone they dident seem to worry about it all that much I told them I would re sample and they said to let it go 5000K before I sample. now the TBN hardly touched the active additive in the oil
