Bilstein Shocks

Bilstein Shocks and Steering Damper.

Has anyone installed them recently? I put them on my Excursion to solve a bad wandering problem 10 years ago. I think I am ready at 86,000 miles for replacement on my Dodge and also some steering wander lately. I know many companies are not what they used to be these days with Globalization. Not looking for a off-roading overpriced custom set-up but just a good dependable shock. Tirerack has them for $67 each.

Can't go wrong with Bilsteins on these trucks.

I put 5160 Bilstein shocks and steering damper on my 2007.5, amazing difference.

Bilstein quality is still there. The best shock for the price.

x4, I have over 30 K on the Y&B's and still love them.

I have the silver shocks and stabilizer and I must say they are still excellent products!

I have to agree to all the above.

Are the Silver 5100 series for lifted trucks? Thats what it seemed like on the Bilstein w/s.

I was thinking of just going w/ the y/b's for the amount I really use the truck which is usually and unfortunately all winter. The front end gets allot of dipping when the plow is on.

The salt mongers love it.

You can get the 5100's in stock length or +2 for if you have a leveling kit. I've had mine for 70k now and they're still good from what I can tell.

[laugh] Thanks! I changed it shortly after he was elected the first time and vowed to keep it until he is out of office!!

I put the 5100's on all 5 shock locations this spring, I have never been as impressed with a shock selection in 20 years of driving, and MANY different rigs/applications.

Coblue 11-07-2013 10:07 PM

Yellow and Blues here also, loving them!

Shorts 11-08-2013 07:41 AM

OP, you're good to go with Bilsteins.

Dragging off track for a second here but on the topic, does anyone mix the Yellow/Blues with the Silver/Blues? I have the S/Bs on the front with the leveling kit and the stock Dodge in the rears that need replacing. The Y/Bs seem like the proper shock choice over the S/Bs as I run around unloaded on the street all the time. But I feel it is a travesty to be unmatching and mix Y/Bs with S/Bs :conf: What should I do? Buy rear Y/Bs and some silver spray paint?
