Bilstein shock absorbers.

Whats the best place to source some of these for the front of my 05 3500? I had an experience today that I think that most refer to as Deat Wobble and I went through the same thing on my ford. I was tooling along at about 80-85 and hit a bad bump in the road and the left front tire didnt want to stop hopping up and down until I hit the brakes hard. Not big deal to me being that I have encountered this problem before on the ford and know what was going on. Its the lack of the factory absorbers to absorbe that much force that quickly. I installed a set of Bilsteins and all was good. The ford was BAD about it. And just like the ford, it only happens when in a curve and its always the lite wheel that does the hopping. I know a better shock absorber will keep that massive rotating mass under control better so thats what I am looking for. The best sorce and the best price for a set of stock replacement shock absorbers with the bilstein name on them. Thanks for any help.

Sounds like you need a new front steering damper. Mine was replaced under warranty after I hit a hard bump @ 50mph.

Wasnt a left to right shake, it was the left front tire bouncing up and down. I did however go through the ball joints, track bar and stabilizer shake issue on my old ford, 79. I can say that this was not any of those symptoms. Maybe its cause i did so much suspension work and alignments at work, but I have a knack for this type of thing. I was kinda dissappointed when it turned out to be just a shock not capable of keeping up with demand. I was hoping to get a truck that suffers from death wabble so maybe i could use it to locate and repair the problem and help some other guys out. I set it up on my Hunter machine at work and set the alignment myself and have never had the death wabble issue. I guess I am the only guy that kinda wanted the DW so I could figure it out. I know this was not the infamos DW cause it wasnt scary in the least and It was just like the 2000 ford. A set of good shocks and it will be gone i know. Now that you mention it though, that Kore stabilizer does look pretty impressive to me. I may look into that unless someone has a cheaper alternative???? I run two rancho 5000 on my 79 and it works great. Thanks for the tip. I will look into upgrading the stabilizer if nothing else.

Every place I've looked has been within $5 of each other for the 5100s, so pick a retailer you trust. I am still searching for some +2" rear Bilsteins for my truck. No one seems to know the answer. Maybe I'll just call Bilstein....

does Genos work with customers that are DTR members on pricing? They are steep on some of their products.
