Big trouble. Dealer just guessing

Hi guys new to forum but not new to Dodge diesel troubles.

Bought an 03 truck that had 130,000 on it when I purchased it.
I've put 30,000 on it and then trouble struck.

The speedometer shows speed 30 to 50mph when stopped.
The throttle stops working and I have to stop and shut off the truck to reset it so it will work again.

The shop has installed a partial wiring harness, I've put in new front hubs.
Shop has said the computer doesn't need flashing and and has replaced all the sensors.

Now they want to put in a complete harness, but admits it may not work.

I can't even drive it because it's so bad and I don't want to throw good money after bad. Plus I know the dealer here in town is just guessing now.

Any ideas? I'm thinking about taking my truck all the way to Redding California because I've heard good things about them.

Guys I really need help on this one.

Thank You in advance.

The year is the main concern.
Also, are there any mods that you know of? Programmers, or chips.

What codes are setting? Did they do a cluster test to make sure it's not a cluster issue? Computer will shut down throttle input if speed increase with foot on brake, safety feature.

Welcome to the forum. Please fill out your signature so we know more about the truck. There are many very knowledgable people on this forum that can most likely help. Sometimes the wierdest issues have very simple answers. In the mean time, have both batteries load tested (free at Autozone, Discount Auto, etc) and check any ground cable for corrosion. The computers in these trucks get really confused when they don't have clean power.

It's an 03 has had an smarty Jr. and then an Edge Juice with attitude and still has an AFT intake and an Air Dog pump.
It was getting 15 mpg with the Smarty Jr. and no difference with the Edge Juice.

Thanks Guys

Thanks BigIron70 for the PM.

Hopefully we can get the cluster test done in the next day or two and report back to the group.

If your batteries and cables test good then I would look at the tipm or fcm. Ive had long cranks, erratic idle, stumbling, wrong reading on the gauges to them not working at all and its been narrowed down to this. My truck is actually down right now for this reason.

ok so idid the cluster test 3 times with the same result. "00" "00". No fault codes. as of now the check engine light is not on. Unfourtunatly the registration is due and im unable to test drive untill next week.
The previous DTC codes were:
PO837
PO700 Transmission control sys
PO720 Low out put speed sensor rpm above 15 mph
P1740 TCC SOL Performance
Both speed sensors have been replaced. the dealership work order reads as follows:
The speedometer jumping is caused by another problem. checked ABS CAB module for pin corrosion. None found. Most likley cause is a defective cab module. soldered on a knew trans output speed sensor connector. Road test trans. Ok but speedometer still has issues. Tested out put sensor for RFI and voltage. Picking up voltage from another circuit in wire harness. Ran temporary wires from PCM to sensor. System works correctly. Need to either replace wire harness or splice in overlay harness.
Made and installed new harness from PCM to output speed sensor, rerouted add on wire harness away from factory wireing and cleaned RT side battery cables all to avoid RFI interference. Road test ok.
Only $70 in parts, and over $600 in labor!!! Let me know what you guys think.
Thanks

The dealer has spliced in a partial wiring harness.

The windows all work from the master control, the passenger's window works sometimes from the passengers control.

Is anyone using an alternator noise filter?

If so which one?

why you added to this thread?

Any ways. Search here and you will find several mufflers that will quiet things down and none of them will affect your performance at all.
