best way to make turbo sing?
I only have 3k miles on my new dodge. I miss the turbo whine I had on my 99 f250. I haven't made any mods to this truck yet. I plan to lots of them. Do you think that the Scotty cowl induction system will make a big diff? Will it be too loud? ( I really like the "jet" engine sound)
I removed the silencer ring and it did not make any difference.

I have an AFE stage 2 CAI and a torque tube on my truck and let me tell you, my turbo sings as loud as any of em on the road and I absolutly LOVE it!!
I also have a straight 4 inch exhaust with no cat or muffler out the back and you can still hear that turbo screaming at you! Gotta love it!

The scotty is an enclosed air system. the K&N or AFE PG7 will be the loudest I would think because they are open element intakes. If you get one of these and your curious about the silencer ring not doing anything reinstall it drive it, then remove it. When I put my intake on it sounded alright but when I pulled the ring out it sounded awesome, it really screams now.
Get twins!
Okay, so I replaced the tube with the baffles in it, yanked the ring, ditched the muffler, stacked it, and put a Scotty III on order. An open element filter will be louder in the cab, but from the other Scotty equipped trucks I have heard on the street, the actual truck noise, errr music, is still pretty nice!
