What is the best turbo to run on an 06' in the 550-600hp range? In the process of building a truck like this and I have been convinced that I don't need twins for this. So let's hear it!

 

what is the primary usage of the truck? if its a dyno queen, drag truck, sled puller, DD, or trailer tow machine, the recommendations will have to vary.

My 06 is making 600 at the wheels with a PS62-14, 90 hp DDP injectors, Completely stock CP3, Airdog lift pump, and beta Smarty. My EGT's are around 1450 in the quarter. Traps 111 mph, and I've pulled very heavy with this turbo/injector combo..

 

Daily driver, occasionally towing less then 5000lbs.

Either the silver 62 or a silver bullet

if you go with the silver 62 it is only 300 bucks to upgrade if you outgrow it

very nice turbo,, very versitile.... if you can swing it I suggest going up to the silver 62 though... not a whole bunch of difference, but IMHO it is worthwhile

i dont think my sps62 would cool the hp levels you want very well, it works good at 500-550, but 600 might be pushing it.

 

Any down sides to the Silver?

 

Not many,,, but after 600 hp, it is getting to the end of its effiecency,,, but it is easily upgraded

Kind of leaning towards twins now. Seems to allow me a safer route in getting 600hp and don't have to worry about EGT's. Other then cost, I am not seeing the downside to twins.
