Yeah the other pistons are perfect, 100% not even the slightest scratch in the skirts running 7.5 thou clearance.
Did you guys make it to the NADP Blackout last year in Edmonton?

I used the cracked cap rods on my engine build. A 12V. They were lab tested to be stronger than all the others. I am now convinced this is incorrect.

Im going to Cunninghams or Woodruff.

Do you have a cam JoeSP?

Don, I'll be needing another H2.......can you hook me up again, turned mine into a 4BT version, .

Sure was impressed with the H2 (were's the heat! cam) hate to mess too much with a good thing, since this is a build with some prototype pistons, got a cam you want throw in the mix?

I know your backed up there like 10 men, but I might need a set of custom nozzles to match these pistons......sent you a email via Rip inquiring about it or at least your opinion on it.

I know what you guys are thinking.... and no. We have never used any of these or seen a motor with these.

Why are you going with those pistons? What are the benifits supposed to be? Your piston only broke because of the rod. My motor had bone stock pistons and help up nicely. Do these not expand quite as much?

what kind of price tag is it to put custom rods in a 6cyl? im thinking about building a 6.7 long block for my 06,

Your right, the stock piston is a great slug. The pistons all stood up very well. I set piston to wall at .0075 and seems crazy sloppy for a diesel yet not even the slightest scratch on the skirts anything.

Thats one reason, these pistons don't expand as much, they have almost the same expansion rate as the cylinder, the original design only had .0028 clearance. They suggest if your putting the screws to them to set them up less tight.

The ability to stand crazy egt's, and even higher peak cylinder pressures.......


Sounds like we cant use water this year pullin either because of people spiking it with meth, so now it will be who can keep from melting down....

And if your looking to go big with the 6.7 I would suggest rods are manditory, I can't say I have experience with the 6.7, but take that same PM rod and throw some more bore at it, I'll bet its hurting at the 800-900 hp level.

I know I read a while back Brown's diesel doing some 6.7 work, not just sure how that all come out....it was getting up there.
