Banks Six Gun Install

Hi Guys,

Just wanted to give my .02 about the six gun. All I can say is WOW much better all the way around. I went to Banks last Monday they did the complete install and even put on there new cat back Dual Exhast, this exhaust looks. The sound is a little deeper and no more drone in the cab it almost sounds like a V8 with a cam. The truck runs so much better no more lag, the throttle response is like a gas engine I am very happy with the results. I even picked up just over a mile per gal. on the highway. One other thing I like about the Six Gun is even on level six the truck doesn't blow the typical black smoke like I have seen on some of the other performance chips. Anyway just wanted to give my thoughts I will put up some pics later.

Stock numbers:

HP stock =248.5 @ 2,800 RPM

TRQ stock = 502.0 @1,800 RPM

Now w/ Banks:

HP = 334.8 @ 2,400 RPM

TRQ = 751.8 @ 2,000 RPM

I will be going back for their new converter in a couple of weeks, but so far so good.
I am very impressed with the truck so far, this is my first Diesel and I just love it. I just got ride of my Blown 1999 GMC w/5.3L. I raced me a Duramax the other day w/ the Edge and just walked away from him every time.

See Ya,
Will

Sorry for the confusion, he has the Edge on his truck ('03 Chevy). We ended up stopping at a light and he wanted to know what had done to the truck.

Will I'm glad your're satisfied with your banks system, wish i could sayt the same. I wish i had found this forum prior to purchasing their product. I hope your're close to them because when something goes wrong with the system its a pain just to get someone to respond. I've had a continuous proble with my crank position sensor since i put the banks kit on, had it replaced 2x with no resolution to the problem. talked to banks about 1 month ago, they were supposedly working on a filter that ould alleviate the proble,m 3 calls out to the factory without a response. so much for banks "vaunted reliability" and "customer service" what a joke!

And if you happen to blow up your engine, they completely ignore all calls from you as well.

I've had the CPS code come up a couple of times.

There's nothing wrong with your CPS, it a electrical glitch.

I just ignore it, and it keeps running.

No problem with mine (yet) only when tranny was built I got a code from box tranny slipping which shuts it down and I know tranny is for sure not slipping now. called tech support over at banks, what a idoit he was told me box must be defective to send back no I told him tranny was just done is there a way to remove tranny from box he said I would have to send back to banks for modifacation. Called DTT next day and talked to Bill about and told me to remove wire from tranny to correct it. It's Fine now!
As for Banks chip its ok but heard from racing builders TST is the way to Go!

Hea Will Baty If you going for a high stall TC it been said it will twist off input shaft if not upgrade too a billet shaft under high torque. I was going too do same but DTT said input would not hang with bombing!
