back spacing question

i am trying to order a set of wheels that are 18x9 but they have a 4.5 or 4 1/2 witch ever it is backspacing will this work for my truck? i know the stock bp is 6 something i want it to stick out just a little but no rubbing. i will be running a 285/65/18 bfgoodrich?

can anyone confirm this set up will work? thanks for the help!

Not sure about the rubbing. You will most likely have a 2-2.5" of tire outside the wheel well. What overall diameter and width is your tire. If it's close to a 33x12.50 size you will most likely not have any rubbing. When I had a 2" leveling kit with my 315 BFGs and my 17x8 wheels with 4.5" of backspacing I would get some rub at full lock and hitting a bump. FYI 315 bfgs are 34.5" in diameter and 12" wide.

Hope this helps

Don't even consider less then 5" or those tires will be sticking way out. The perfect fit would be a 5.3" but that's never gonna happen unless you have them built custom. go to this thread. I just put on 17X9 with 5" backspace and "0" offset with 37X12.50's they have enough room that I could go to 13.5 or even 14" wide with no rubbing. They extend ouside the sheetmetal about an inch and are what I would consider just right. You need to have "0" offset with the 5" backspace. If you were to go with a 4.5" make sure you have "0" offset or they will be way outside the truck by a couple inches. My neighbor has these 4.5" offset wheels with a bad offset, he does not know the amount, they look like he's on Pontoons his tires are out so far! See the photos in this thread and then you will have a better idea.
