Audio System overhaul
Gonna do the soundsystem within the next few days. Here is what I have picked out. Please give me your ideas or suggestions. Thanks!
p.s. I have the regular 4 speaker stereo right now.
Alpine Head Unit for now
Front Components:
-JL Audio C5-650 6.5" components (75W RMS, 150W peak)
-Custom mounting plate to house the mid woofer
-silk dome tweeters mounted in dash with custom mounting plates
Rear:
-MB Quart PVF 213 5.25" convertible to coaxial components (50W RMS, 110 W peak) with inverted Ti tweeters either mounted coaxially or around midwoofer in door panel
-or-
-CDT Audio CL-E51CV 5.25" Classic convertible components (90W RMS, ?W peak) tweeters mounted same as above
-or-
- JL's website says the C5 5.25" coaxials are coming soon
Amp:
either JL 300/4v2 or Alpine PDX-4.150
Wires with Monster Cables Hot Wire 2
Low End Bass will come later, already have a JL 500/1 amp, I was thinkin either fox box or pro box
What do you think??

Looks good, you'll like the JL stuff. When I put mine together they didn't have the ZR or C5 line. I've got the XR 6.5 components in the doors......

Along with another set of XR tweeters in the factory dash location. I'm using a 300/2 to power them. Make sure you give them enough power. I have VR 6" coaxials in the rear with just head unit power. They don't do much for rear fill for people in the front seats. (Me)

I also went with the stealth box in under the rear seat. It sounds amazing. Easily sounds like 2 10's. Of course I used Dynamat through out, so maybe thats why.

That's a great looking set up, I bet it sounds awesome too. I had the stealth box with a 10" w3 in an 04 ford and it sounded pretty good for just a 10. Like people say, the sub enclosure makes a big difference in SQ. How do you like the extra set of tweets in the front?
I added them after the original install of them in the doors didn't raise the sound stage as much as I liked. An additional set in the dash did the trick as I like my tunes extremely loud. The XR's can handle it too. I bet the C5's will sound sweet as well. I think the Dynamat had alot to do with the spl and sound quality in the cab. I would definitley recomend doing it. Those pics were from my 2003 truck which I sold. But I did my new '04 as well before I installed anything. Good luck and let us know how it turns out. Remember to feed those C5's plenty of power. They can take it.

I plan on it, I'm just not sure if I will be over powering the MB Quarts at 50W RMS if I go with the Alpine amp. The CDTs are rated for 90W RMS. That is my main concern. Either of those amps will provide ample power for the C5s and whatever goes in the back, I just don't want to have too much power if I do the Quarts.
I went with memphis components in all doors, I think it was 6.5" and 6x9"s. And then 4 10" D class behind the rear seat(mega cab). I have two 1000-d amps for the subs and the memphis four channel for the speakers.
It gets LOUD!!!

I live by Memphis Audio too, partly because the dealer I get them from cuts me a heck of a deal on them and Kicker audio. I like JL audio, know many ppl who swear by them. Should sound very nice. Get some bump in there though.
