alltork,
How about and HONEST opinion of the edge EZ. Whats the driveability like, how much did the trucks manners change, how does it idle and start in cold weather. In others words I've heard all the good how about the bad.

Gypsyman, I'll try and tell you what I know. Truck is like night and day with edge box on it , there is much improved throttle response . From a dead stop I can take off spinning the rear tires very easy . I haven't driven much on highway since installing so i can't tell you gas mileage difference. If I don't put my foot into the pedal the gas mileage in town is about the same. Have not thrown any engine codes or engine light. Truck starts and runs the same in cold weather. I haven't pulled any thing with it nor have I got chance to install X-monitor yet. I'm running it on level 4 so far tranny seams fine. If I had to say the biggest improvement would have to be in the low end acceleration. I'm sure someone else can chime in thats pulled there trailer with it. I oredered from E-bay, paid $395. If your gonna get one shop around. I went with the edge box for now because it seemed to be one of the most reliable boxes out there right now. Maybe when other new boxes get there bugs worked out I'll upgrade to a more powerful box. for right now the edge box works just fine. Hope this helps you. alltork.

Thanks for the info. I'm still waiting to see how the new boxes shake out. Might have to get an EZ while I watch the show.

I agree with Alltork, I just added an Edge box to my '03 last week. I have 315's on my truck and a 4" suspension lift. With out the box you can forget about spinning the tires but once the Edge was installed it will spin those large 315's at will . I have not done any towing but I can tell you that when I added the larger tires I lost about 1 1/2 miles per gallon on the fuel economy. After adding the Edge box it seems to have increase 3-4 miles per gallon. I'm running the box on level 4 and I have not installed the boost elbow for the turbo as of yet. I'm waiting on that until I get my gauges installed.

I had orginally ordered a TST box but with all the problems they are having now I cancelled the order and purchased the Edge. In the long run I'll get a TST or a new Edge Juice for the '03 when its available but I decided to wait it out a while. I purchased this Edge box off a guy on Ebay, its used but by buying it used I only paid $325.00 for it and I will certainly be able to get that back out of it in 4-6 months when I'm ready to upgrade.

I have an 03 H.O. Just installed an airaid intake system and the modular intake tube last nite. BIG difference in the trucks performance. Turbo spools up alot faster and sounds good. Throttle response is 100% better. didn't notice increase in MPG yet because i've only been around town. This is my only mod so far besides taken the silencer ring off when it was new.

I have the MIT and I was very inpressed with the fit versus the Eliminator pipe. How was the fit and finish of the air box portion? What swayed your decision towards the AirAid?

BTW thanks for replying!!!

The fit and finish were very good, very easy install. I don't know about other systems but I like it mostly because 1) I Know its doing it's job,i can hear it and feel the difference 2) the system retains alot of the stock hardware,so if I need to put the stock system back together it's as easy as putting in a stock filter and clicking the top back on.......Jannetty Racing recommended that unit to me and I'm very pleased and I would recommend it to anyone looking for one

I trust Ted and his input. I'm waiting for him to get more VA boxes in. Do you know if he carries the AirAid's? If not where did you pick yours up?
