Anybody w/ 6 speed AND a box??

I will be picking my 03 up this Thursday and already I am looking into upgrades. The question I have is this. If I buy a box (tst or edge) will I be able to "feel" the power on take off like the automatics, or will it be worth my while only in the top gear?

Also, is there an Edge juice w/ attitude for the 03 305/555?

Thanks, Dan

To the best of my knowledge, no Juice yet for the 305/555...

I've got a buddy with an EZ on his '03 with a 6-speed. There is no mistaking it's there when he get's on it, no matter what the gear. Once the boost picks up, it really pushes you back into the seat and will hold you there. I've never ridden in an automatic with one, so I guess I can't help you on a direct comparison there. However, the 6-speed is not known as a speed-shift-friendly tranny, so don't plan on winning too many stoplight drags against the slushboxes anyways.

I would agree with all of the above mentioned posts. You can really fell a diiference when you add a box to your engine. The six speed is not a speed shifters dream, and if you try to make it that way you will need to find a good tranny guy. I am very happy with my 6 speed but you do not stand much of a chance against an auto in any kind of race. Be aware that the horsepower bug is a nasty little critter. I was bitten now I am in the process of some major additions. OH well you only live once, I hope you enjoy your truck as much as some of the rest of us.

One thing I almost forgot, if you add a box or downloader of any kind aleast get an EGT guage so you can see what is going on. These CR trucks tend to run a little hotter than the older trucks and you do not want to damage that wonderful engine you just paid for.

I run the EZ stacked with the VA 3.2 duration box. She'll run but the stock clutch is no match for the power.

Just tried my second box with my 6sp truck.

I took the Bullydog Power Pup off due to wet/ice on the roads. It made great power with the 6sp but was kind of peeky after each shift for any moisture on the road. Wheel spin was way easy on dry pavement.

Today was my first drive with the RAMifier (with the in-cab switch) the power was much smoother and stronger than the PowerPup in Tow mode and felt about the same as the Power Pup in Performance mode.

For a 6sp truck I like the RAMifier MUCH better due to the smoother power band and the ability to turn it down or off from in the cab. As soon as I get MPG figures with it, I will let you know.

Yeah, you'll feel it!!!

As for the stock clutch, the Six-Gun is slipping it on 6 and sometimes on 5, and its only getting worse.

What kind of money am I looking at for a clutch that will hold the power. It kind of sucks that the truck just had a new clutch put in. One of the only times when you wish the old owner didn't put new in.

I have a six speed as well and have been considering the 6 gun or the Juice with Atitude. How long will the stock cluch last with either of these 2? Is one better than the other with a 6 speed?

bkrukow, the clutch should last long enough for you to get your truck home from the store

EZ in an 03 555 and 6 sp is a good package. Respectable power gains (you will feel) and better gas mileage if you keep your foot out of it. Get a EGT gauge unless you plan on running it only in 1 or 2 and not towing. FYI 1 and 2 are not as fun as 3 and 4 and sometimes 5.
