there is a real long thread on here somewhere about these. if you search you will find lots of info about it, I remember seeing it but dont have one. I do remember that there was someone on ebay that a few members got one from and were happy with.

I had a JL Audio center seat cushion sub in my 02 - It was great! At the time I bought my 03 they did not make one yet.

That price it awesome compared to the JL... But I wonder like you will it fit good?

this is pretty cool. im just scared to run an amp and sub off my stock radio. the last time i did that was on a mach460 in a mustang, and the sound quality coming from the line converter from the speakers was horrible. it would get static, and a whine whenever i gave the car gas.

JL also has the stealth box, goes under one side of the rear seats. Just another option....

Thats actaully the one I bought because the JL under-mid-cushion one was not available yet... It is a great fit, great sound.. BUT more for just fill - Not for over-the-top bass.

a good ground will solve most of your issues. i use 4gauge minimum for ground when i install amps. so far so good

I have heard nothing but good reviews for the hot box off ebay. I personally liked my lower center console storage more than under my rear seats, so I went with a Pro Box, http://www.proboxloaded.com/homepage.shtml and couldn't be happier. I bought the one in the image on the bottom left of the link above.... a single 12" that only takes up the space under the passenger side. The fit is perfect, the speaker included is very high quality, and the price was awesome...$300 plus shipping I believe, including the 12" sub!!. The quality is hands down, the best prebuilt box I have ever seen. You cannot even tell it has a MDF wood construction. Sounds is great, but the flimsy seat bottom cushion will reverberate/rattle when you really crank into it....sounds like distortion, but it's not the speaker distorting. They have various configurations available from single 10s to dual 12s.

It all depends on what you want. If you want more of a budget system and a basic woofer and spend $300 and hook it to your stock deck it will sound OK.

Just ask anyone who is into car audio, that factory head unit sucks, especially if your adding a subwoofer and amp on you factory head unit.

You you need to have a quality head unit with seperate sub controls so you can adjust your sub

I will be going with the ebay hot box and filling it with a JL audio 10W6 and I already scored my JL 500/1 amp off craigslist for $250.

You can do things the right way for a little bit more $$$

The best sub set up for our trucks would be exactly what I just wrote
ebay hot box
JL sub
JL amp or another high end unit
good head unit with sub control

I guess considering there's no coil/igniter or distributor you won't have to worry about that!! Diesel baby!!

thanks guys, I don't really want to go with the rear underseat sub cause I like the storage but I think i've got enough storage up front so why not fill the it with a sub?! Can you have somebody sit on the box? Any dislikes of the center console box?

if you want to use your factory head unit get a jl audio clean sweep. they work great and clean up the audio signals from the factory head unit and turn them into 4v signals for your amp.
