anybody ever notice a loss in MPG's with new intake?

Ok, I finally decided to buy a S&B intake for the truck because I had some paypal dollars burning a hole in my pocket.

anyway, I love the way it sounds and it fits and looks great.

I am either going crazy or I have lost 1-2 MPG after putting it on. Is that possible? Maybe something else has changed.

Before anyone tells me it is because I hear the trubo more and I am on it harder, that isn't the case. I have paid particular attention this tank to make sure I don't at all.

any input is appreciated.

How long have you had it on?

If not long...give it a few tanks for everything to adjust.

I didn't lose any mileage myself....but didn't gain any either...

I ran my truck for probably 10k miles with just intake/exhaust...got around 16-17 MPG which is what the truck got since I owned it counting the time I had the Edge EZ installed. I went through several different set-ups (EZ/Bully Dog, XZT/Bully Dog, XZT) with no luck on gaining mileage....never gained any mileage till I installed the Smarty....so who knows....

I do think the truck ran more "efficiently" when I was just running intake/exhaust....

Anyways....to the point....I've never heard of anyone losing mileage from installing an intake....thats just weird!

Whenever I do any mod I start flooring it like 3 times as often to see if I feel a difference in power. It is great for MPG's.
