Any1 running this cone filter with torque tube set up? reason I ask is lately my EGTS are high and every1 is saying that amsoil filters suck and restrict quite a bit. Maybe im not getting enough air?

 

Nothing wrong with an Amsoil 6080.Been running one for 6 months with no egt issues.Maybe its your hot juice with a stock turbo!

 

haven't had any problems with ours. It's on the farms big generator A
"12valve Cummins". Sudden EGT problems could be a number on things from a boost leak to over fueling.

 

I had a S&B oiled style filter and then switched to the amsoil nano filter....no changes in EGTs at all....

They flow just fine....

 

dude it's NOT your filter...... Have you removed your edge chip yet??? how many EGT threads are you going to make?? you never replied to the last ones telling us if you have tried removing it(unplug the chip) dont just turn it off try removing it completely... my 6080 has been on for over a year with NO cleaning and my EGT's are just fine....

 

what do u mean ******? How can i not remove it completely. I have no gauges other than the attitude. So if i Unhook everything how will I be able to read boost or egts when my attitude wont work or wont be there? Is there a way I can bypass edge and still use the attitude monitor?

 

That I dont know about the edge????my commander can be ran separately from the module......you just unplug the module and it reads everything but boost and rail psi..but you could still see what the pyro says..I would try to do something like this with you edge.
did you build a boost leak adapter yet???

 

no because on wednesday my truck is going into dealer for air to air check and turbo check. reason being i have LUBRICO extended warranty and if they find something wrong Ill have to pay upfront but LUBRICO will reimburse me.So its worth a try. My ? is if turbo or wastegate is shot i wonder if theyll replace it with a factory turbo or if i can upgrade and pay the extra and get a 60mm instead of the stock 54 mm turbo?

 

yeah right good luck getting them to pay for some of a aftermarket turbo
thats about as likely as them splitting the cost on a Smarty

 

lol. well if smartys lower egts as much as 700 F (from the sounds of it) they should.

 

My ? is i will disconnect EDGE JUICE ECU from the plug because my edge you can unplug harness on black box. ill try it and see if the attitude still lights up or if I can even run the truck without codes being set. If so i will take it into dealership like that.

 

If you have an 04.5 you should already have the HE351 with the 60mm compressor.
