Just put in my new flux 1 injectors, truck idles fine but soon as you put in gear just off idle(800 rpm) it rattles slightly and the rattle goes away at about 1450 rpms. Any ides as to what it could be

too much timing with the new sticks? Typically aftermarket injectors want a tad less timing....

Sounds like the typical rattle everybody gets when adding different injectors. there has been some major discussion about this and so far about the only thing that anybody has come up with is it's normal and won't do any damage. My truck also does the same thing as you are talking about also triton's megacab does it. Just a litle rattle from the added timing? Most guys that I have heard that have the rattle is from 100hp injectors.

FF,

They should be very quiet in the 03 model year truck. Take the Diablo and Juice off. The Juice adds pressure in the 03 models. That could add to the rattle. The Diablo can certainly add a rattle. Together, they could both be compounding the noise.

Is this rattle in neutral gear while sitting still or when driving?

the rattle is just when you put it in gear under load and just start taking off. The diablo isnt on I have just the juice on at the moment . I noticed that the rattle is worse when I have my juice on 0 stock than if I have it on 5 .
Will this hurt anything . I am going to be buying a smarty and hopefully getting rid of the juice and the diablo.

I also noticed that it has a slight miss at idle . I disconected the juice and nothing changed. There is no fuel leaks, after 1500 rpms it runs real smooth , and doesnt smoke unless i put it to the floor, it smokes way less and is really responsive compared to what it was like before i had the injectors rebuilt. Any ideas on what it could be. I am going to on tuesday take the valve cover off to make shure that the wires for the injectors are put on right and are tight.

Mine will give a rattle as you tip in the throttle then clear up same as yours, but I only get it with aggressive Smarty timing. TST and VA3.1 together wont make it rattle.

It may sound weird but I will get an odd miss (might not even be a miss) at idle if I have the defrost on, the miss does follow the the AC cycling, it's worse if the grid heater is still drawing current. Such a condition is prime time for crank sensor code (p0036) on my truck, usually don't get that code with Smarty however, well, not as often as TST at least.

mine is doing it on all levels of the edge and even on stock without the edge . I will have to see if there is any codes tomorrow. Maybe it is my crank sensor .

When you have the valve cover off, check the valve lash settings. Since you pulled the exhaust rocker, check those real good as well. Make sure all are tight and the push tubes are not tweaked/bent.

I am wondering if the rattle is valve lash now.

can a person unhook the injector harness for doing a injector kill test and run the truck without hurting anything. I know it will kill two injectors at a time but still trying to figure out problem. Tonight pulling off valve cover to check everything out. Also could hooking wires up backwords on injectors cause this problem.

Yes, you can unhook one wire at a time with the engine running.

Check the rocker arms and the push tubes. Make sure the tubes are not bent. Check the valve lash too. The rattle at the RPM you describe sounds like it is lash.

valve lash was good on all the exhaust and intake, The most rattle or knock was comming from #1 cylinder so I changed out injector put a stock one in the miss went away at idle and the rattle is still there but not as bad. Going to try and change out the other 5 injectors this week in between nightshifts, and going to see if that makes a difference. wish me luck I am starting to go nuts from trying to figure this problem out.

changed out the injectors and the rattle or knock went away. Guess I will have to send my injectors back to f1 to get them checked . The noise that they where making almost sounded like a rod knock.
