Airdog canister mod question

So a little over a year ago I put my airdog on and modified the canister, works great, love it, a little noisy sometimes but not too bad. Anyways, after i put everything back together my fuel guage no longer works. I don't know if I damaged the sensor or what but it reads empty all the time now. At first it wasnt that big of a deal but i'm getting tired of having to go off of milage and i would like to have the gauge working again. I have the old style in tank deal so is there any way i can fix it or am i just going to have to replace it?

I do however get a kick out of hauling people around and they see i'm on empty and tell me i need fuel. I just say nah she'll run forever on E lol.

I'd drop the tank or lift the box or whatever you did to put it in, see if the canister is turned or something that would stop the float from moving. If it looks okay pull the canister out and put an ohm meter on the wires to the float, raise and lower it and see if the resistance changes, if it's okay the problem is somewhere else. Hopefully you can buy a new float separate from the canister.

Ok I'll give that a try, hopefully this is the problem because I would really like to have my fuel gauge back.

is this a common problem? Im putting my AD II in tonight and I really like having a working fuel gauge.
later that night edit: found out after dropping the tank that my lift pump is not in the tank

The only problem that I had was that I didn't disconnect the batteries before hand. When I started the truck up the fuel guage was on "E" and wouldn't move. I check out everything electrical & was getting reading on the wire, but the gauge cluster wouldn't move. It took a few start stops before the computer reset itself and now the gauge is working fine.
