You could do the airdog 100, but you will be dropping the tank regardless to either install your pickup tube or liberty module on your 06'

I like how you did this.. I also don't see the stock fuel heater being that big of a difference and the airdog has awesome filtration so the stock filter housing is useless if ya ask me.. So the airdog 150 bypasses the stock filter housing. I to am going to do the vulcan 1/2 draw straw and vent mod when I do my airdog 150 install also. That will flow enough fuel then right like you did? My question is I see you put a 90 elbow tapped to read your fp.. What kind of gauge are you using to read it? Is your gauge under the hood or did you run a line inside the cab?? Where does the 90 elbow hook up on the cp3 to read fp

your lucky!!!! the new airdogs come with the Vulcan style drawstraw so you dont need to buy one like I did.....I use a commander to read my FP...the electric sending unit screws right into the vulcan fitting...it should work with any FP gauge tho...

im having problems w/ my electronic sender being installed in the tapped 90* vulcan fitting at the cp3. my fuel press gauge reads different almost everytime i drive the truck. sometimes it reads 13-14psi and other times it reads 18-19psi.

so far everyone has told me not to install the sender directly onto the engine because the vibration will cause it to be innacurate and also kill the sender quikly. everyone has suggested relocating the sender further down the fuel line w/ a tapped t-fitting. others have said to use a length of hose from the cp3 fitting to locate the sender farther away from the engine.

i ordered the tapped t-fitting from vulcan today and they gave it to my free of charge bacause the other tapped 90* fitting i got from them had bad threads in it and was tapped too wide causing the sender not to tighten down. i had to drill it out and weld another tapped nipple onto it just to be able to use it. it has ben nothing but problems so far.

I am getting very variable pressure reading with my airdog as well. Sometimes the needle is right on 18-19, and other the needle will build pressure up to 20 then drop off to 12-13 and build pressure to 20 and then drop to 12-13 and keep repeating this process. I move my pressure sensor from the cp3 fitting to a tapped "t" from vulcan and still the same problem.

Really so all the new airdog 150 kits come with the vulcan draw straw? I have a quad fp/rp gauge coming and that has a electronic sending unit right? I have never had a problem with filling my tank so I may not do the vent mod.. What about deleteing the stock filter housing all the way.. Anyway to keep check engine light from tripping yet?

It is a little bit like the the Vulcan straw......................simply it is a piece of 1/2" PVC with threads on one end.

yes it IS a vulcan draw straw....yes your quad FP gauge will come with a sending unit....I have had my stock filter deleted for a week or more now and I have not had CEL from the fuel heater and WIF sensors being unplugged....I don't think you need to worry about it..I have not checked it with my scanner to see if it has a soft code tho.....

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Does this mean they will supply updated parts for existing customers?

Thanks,

Tim

The only thing i don't like about the kit is the electrical wiring. They tell you to plug the Deutsch connector into the stock LP. But don't give you the plug on the harness.
Other than that and no tapped 90 elbow for a gauge it's a nice kit. I've helped install 2 in the Cave both 3rd gen trucks.

Niether kit came with the Deutsch connector for the LP connection, just a red wire to splice into it.

if it was on a 04.5+ 3rd gen then that is how it hooks up...there is not a Deutsch plug on the newer trucks...
