mark this thread helps alot. overall I am pretty pleased with the airdog system. I had to make a new bracket for my truck also because I wanted the system to run paralel to the frame. some of the instructions need to be a little more clear and I talked to a guy from pureflow I told him that. splicing into the orange wire with the red tracer didnt work on my truck for some reason I just ran the red wire to the fuse box to the slot for heated seats and something else

You can get the AD kits now with the Raptor mount which makes it easier to mount it parallel to the frame.
Mine's with my American bud, he's bringing it up for me next week, will get it on after the next fishing trip.

yeah you can do that...problem is the stock pump wont be running and it wont open the flapper valve on the bottom of the canister unless it is. so you will have NO way to get fresh fuel in the canister if you do it this way and your truck may run out of fuel set up like that.

Yeah that is strange?
Sounds like it's all done anyway, but if you follow the electrical plug on the top of the factory lift pump module the trigger would be one of those 4 wires. So for anyone else wondering it should be relatively easy to find.

After all that good thinking, I overlooked this simple fact. Thanks. Back to the drawing board.

03 Basic Questions

I know the LP's are a weakness on the 03's so if/when mine goes this will probably be the option I go with.
1. Since I have a 2003 and would be looking at the AD100 do I need to do any of canister mods?
2. What is the CP3, what does it do? If I have this whole intake process right, fuel leaves the filter enters the CP3 then goes to the injectors. Does the CP3 pressurize?
3. Looking at the pics, the bottom of the filter is even with the bottom of the frame, what are the chances of road debris or something else getting under the truck and tearing this thing apart?
4. I like the looks of that Filter Housing Eliminator. Has anyone ran into any codes or other problems from bypassing the heater or WIF sensor? How important is the heater, if gelling isn't a worry with the additives they put in the fuel why is there even a heater in the first place?

Here's MY answers to your questions

1 - No, the AD100 should connect to the factory canister
2 - CP3 is your injector pump
3 - If you're worried about something hanging the same level as the frame you must do some serious off roading, I'm not worried about it but if I was maybe I'd look into some kind of skid plate to protect it?
4 - I'll be bypassing the stock filter, been no reports of anyone having any problems doing it. If I was worried about it though I can always run the AD feed to the stock housing before going to the CP3.

More questions

Fisherguy, thanks for the answers
So what is the difference from the lift pump to the injector pump, can you explain the CP3's job a little more?
As far as the debris I was thinking more like if you ran over a piece of tire rubber on the highway.

The lift pump draws fuel from the tank to feed the injector pump.
My lift pump is in my tank (PITA), yours is on the side of your stock filter canister (I think?).

The cp3 creates very high pressure in the common rail line (line that connects to your six injectors).

Fisherguy,

We have to unplug the WIF and heater on the filter canister or are those disabled when the wire is cut at the back to reroute OEM function to the AD?

Ahhh, I'll get a better looksee this afternoon when I go out to test fit the bracket and then take it to a buddy for cutting and welding so it goes inline with the frame.

I'm not sure, would have to ask Mark.
Let me know how the install goes, I'll be doing mine first empty tank after this 2 week fishing trip.

unplugging the WIF sensor and the fuel heat will NOT cause a CEL on a 06 truck(mine)...I assume the same goes for the rest of the trucks as well....I have not checked to see yet...but I bet there is a soft code if I look it up with my scanner...Shoot when I blend door broke last year there was a soft code for the blend door!! these ne CAN trucks tell you about everything! it's pretty cool.
so NO you will not get a CEL if you unplug the WIF or fuel heater.

what did you come up with Festus????
I wanna hear the new idea!
