Airbag 4 link rear

Wanted to knock out wheel hop/axle wrap completely With the manual tranny and wondering if anybody knew if the airbag 4 link rear setup where you remove the leaf springs was a good solution and if so where to get the best parts or kit.

Check with Lorenz. On TDR there was a thread about him trying a different suspension doing away with the leaf springs and using a single arm using an airbag. It is not 4 link.
Check it out.

I went to as 1-piece driveshaft and completely eliminated wheel hop, also eliminated some speed related vibrations depending on which gear I was in at the top end. Just a thought before you change the suspension itself.

Firestone has a new advanced airide technology system called R4Tech, maybe this would be of interest to you?

I think the link is www.firestoneip.com/dp

firestones kit looks real nice but the price is up there, alittle over $2000, which is close to what a kelderman kit costs. has anyone actually seen one of firestones R4Tech in person or rode in a vehicle equipped with one?

kelderman makes a 4 link air suspension kit. It looks really good, I am thinking of doing their system front and back. It will give me adjustable height of -1 to +2" and the ride. I have not priced it out yet but I am sure it is not cheap.

I called on Kokalit's link. That is only for the 4-link system. It does not include the pump. When I talked with them pump kits start at +$350 & up. Still not bad.

You may want also take a look at Firestone's R4tech. I was able to find a campler dealer that is a Firestone dealer. They said that I they would sell it all for $2000 pump & all. I would do the install.

Reviews here for airbagit.com have mixed reviews on customer service. Between the two, if you're racing the 4 link is a better setup. For towing I don't think it will mater. Once I get some money saved up I'll be going with the R4tech setup cuz of the auto load leveling setup on the R4tech system.

The truck in his signature is a short box so it already has a 1piece driveshaft I can't see how changing the driveshaft would eliminate wheel hop I have always thought of wheel hop caused by spring wrap up ( the rear axle wanting to go the opposite way from the wheels). I can see a 4 link set up working and even traction bars but not a driveshaft change.

Thanks for the replies the kelderman seems like it would put an end to wheel hop but I'm thinking about making a custom set up since I've been looking for info I've found this web site www.ballisticfabrication.com they have all the bits and pieces but no specific kit. Since I read this article http://www.therangerstation.com/Maga..._link_tech.htm
I'm wondering about coil-over vs airbag vs eliptical leaf springs what do you all think is the best on our heavy rigs? Seems to me rebuildable coil-overs and I like the fact of no air compressor. Maybe for alot of towing airbags are better but I hardly ever haul anything.
