Air Intake box
um not sure bout the one your interested in, but the stage II is awsome. put one on my truck n gained couple miles per gallon and awsome turbo sound. i got the dry filter they're kinda new and you don't have to oil them.
I have an AFE Stage 2 and love it the turbo is really loud with this setup. But if I was going to do it again I would fab up one of 53Willys whistler intakes louder and way cheaper do a search for the Whistler intake.
these guys are correct. Ive ran a couple afe setups and you can turn your stock stuff into a decent setup. I installed a stage 2 afe and was not pleased with it againist oil filter on the tube that goes down to the turbo
I cut a 4" hole in the bottom , insulated the box, ran a 4" PVC 45 degree fitting from the new hole, ran 4" dryer hose from the PVC fitting to cold air. Dropped in an Amsoil Ea 189 filter. (Large increase in turbo whine).

i just used a "holesaw" for a deadbolt door lock kit, about 2 1/8 inches, made 3 holes in bottom with it, no longer draws down the filter minder.
the filter minder tells you how much DP (differential psi) there is across the filter, and if the box is restrictive, the filter minder will show that as DP, so reset your FM,
drive it hard,
cut a few holes, reset it,
drive it hard,
notice you saved $300.

in the intake tube you can gut the straight section very easily. you can take it apart and that black plastic will fall out of it. then epoxy it back together. the elbows of the intake have those white air guides, you can break those with pliers and throw those in the trash. its easy and very cheap to do. just make sure you have all the scraps out of the intake before you reinstall it
Volant makes a very good system That is covered and keeps the noise down. I have the Volant with the Ram Air setup and I am very pleased with it. The noise is far less than the AFE and It's a covered box so It does not draw air from the warm engine compartment. I personally think it's better than AFE.
Everyone seems to like the AFE because it brings out the sound of the turbo and thats " COOL ", ..........unless your hauling a load for 600 miles and you don't have any asperine to help with the headache.
