air dog or air dog 2
air dog or air dog 2
I'm getting ready to make some changes to my truck. I don't want to have to worry about fuel pressure so I thought I would start with a air dog. For an extra $100, I can get the air dog 2 and it is suposedly better and adjustable. Any of you already running it on a 03? If so are you happy with it?
Thanks,
Chris

I dont think I would spend the extra 100 on the ad2. The only differences between them are the draw straw, which you can fab up on your own following write ups on here, and the other difference is in how the pump works. I do not remember exactly what the difference was, but with their lifetime warranty I would just pocket the extra hundred. Are you looking at the 100 or 150? and is your pump relocated to the tank?
I haven't looked to see where the pump is. Is it not standard on all 03 models? Which is easier to work with, the in-tank pump or the out-of-tank pump? I'm looking at the 100. Don't think I will ever need the 150. I'm won't be racing or sled pulls or ever get on a dyno.

The pump would be on the backside of the fuel filter canister unless the truck has been into the dealer and had it moved to the tank. The in tank or out of tank pump does not really make a difference if your interested in the 100. For the 100, you just hook up the airdog fuel line to the suction line already in place for your tank.
You might as well get the 150, they are both the same price. It isn't going to hurt anything having the extra fuel available. I just bought a 150 and it came with the draw straw.
Im not sure if i am correct on this but i do believe that the pressure on the 100 and 150 can adjusted. I believe it is a spring replacement, but again, im not 100% sure on this.

Yes there is a separate spring you can change out to change the pressure. It goes in the "return to tank" fuel line on the pump. The 150 comes with a draw straw, but the draw straw it comes with is different on the airdog 2 than the airdog that is on sale through the dtr store right now.

The AirDog II has an adjustable regulator. The AirDog pressures can be switched but not "adjusted". It would require removing the return line, the return fitting in the pump, and pulling the spring from the inside of the pump. The AirDog II is just a simple turn of a screw driver. The AirDog II also comes with a module upgrade. This gives you the capabilities of putting your suction line in the basket as well as returning fuel to the basket without having to modify everything on your own. Everything is already pre cut to length and ready to install. Both systems come with a LIFETIME WARRANTY and use the same filters. Let me know if you have any questions.
Great info!!! trailinone I would do the AD100 if that's all you want, I have the 100 and it supports plenty for my truck, I know they're the same price but the 100 is made for a reason and sold for a reason. I see it as my limit for power until I'm ready for more.

A guy on one of these forums was making over 700 HP with the AD100.
AD, where do you plumb the return when 'the suction tube is not required', are you drawing from the canister?

Well with the module upgrade kit, you will have your pick up tube installed in the canister and return via original suction. I apologize for being unclear on the suction tube thing. You will have a new suction tube but not installed in the tank.
