agghh!!! p2146 wont stop!! Injector trouble?

ok heres the deal.. Truck has been poping the 2146 or 2149 for a long time intementingly, took it in recently for warranty to fix it before my warranty ran out, the dealer warranted it with new valve cover/injector harness... Truck has been flawless since. This morning turning onto highway did it again, 2146.. I just new that the factory harness wasnt anygood and thought my troubles were past, now i'm wondering if theres something else going on in there besides my harness? surely the new harness isn't shot already. Seems like it always used to be worse with more timing from my smarty. I currently am running sw 4, timing 4, everything else stock.. Is there something with my smarty and too much timing causing this? Haven't heard of anyone else with issues like this with there smarty... any ideas or help would be awsome. even if u think its the dreaded injectors... thanx jared

99% of the time the harness is fine. ITS an injector problem. remove the valve cover, disconnect the injector wires on each injector and OHM them out. .01-1.0 is in range. anything else is a faulty injector. make sure the harness is disconnected from each injector before ohm'ing them out or you will get false readings.

Ok just what I was afraid of.. Wondering if I should take it in for warranty, got 3k left on my 100k engine... But the tech didn't seem to sharp when I took it in for harness swap... So if it's an injector will it just do it every once and a while or will it be faulty the whole time without being able to notice it? Cause it runs great except when it pops the code. Thanks

Also if it is the injector/injectors and i decide to do the work myself where is the best place to have injector work done? i don't know alot bout injectors for the common rails, can u have them repaired? Do the aftermarket companies like f1 and ddp do that or do they only put on new tips and / or mod them? Or do you have to buy a new one from bosch/cummins and then have the injector modded? forgive me for my dumbness on injectors just something i haven't dealt with much...
