Looking for ideas for an aftermarket air filter for my 07.
It needs to be able to pass smog as well.

use a airbox and filter from a 6.7

 

One dirty engine compartment.

Why not stay stock? Are you running over 500 HP?

 

Get a Napa Gold/ Wix 9946 for the stock airbox. I run a DPP cool hose with mine for a little extra whistle.

 

I had the Cool Hose for a few days. Excellent quality product but as deaf as I am,the whistle nailed me.

I wonder how the MIT part works? Does it increase flow without the whistle?

 

does a stock 6.7 air filter flow more than stock 5.7?

 

yes i think it is 400 cfm more and the home dipot works as good as the psm and $70 cheaper. danderson the stock hose has nylon straightning vanes in the elbow to reduce side shear in the turbo. you need to use a T.A.G.with the coolhose, this will drop your wistle

 

Yeah,Bryan @ Diesel Power Products suggested that. I sold the Cool Black Hose(they got some in) to a friend. Couldn't see spending the money. Used one on my '98.5 with no results power-wise. Did reduce noise with the BHAF a bit.

I only set my Smarty on sw# 3,so the engine has more than enough air with the 5.9 stocker.
