bought afe blade runner for what the box says 98 - 02. installed no problem on my 03. truck seems to sound and run better.
but after looking and comparing on computer the 98-02 blade runner and 03-07 claim different increases.
anyone know what the difference between the modles are and do you think i should not have installed a part for wrong year on truck. thanks.
oh yeah, i am getting more black smoke now when i step on it.

 

It'll go on. The inlet angle is just a little different on the 98-02. No big deal. The claims are different because they are different motors.

 

The stock intake horns on the CRs are way more restrictive than the VP trucks.

You are right the vp trucks have long bolts on the outside and don't neck down aroung the bolts and the CRs do. The angle of the inlet is also different.
