Advice for a new SBC owner !!!
i just got my sbc dd 3600 6button clutch installed the other day. so far it seems to grab alot better but is also alot more to push in. i also did the hydrolic upgraid with the clutch
some questions i had were how long should i wait to really romp on this new clutch?
will it get smoother and less effort to push in?
any other advice for longevidy or opperation is greatly appreciated

I just got my 3600 12 puck put in a couple months ago but having trouble with it. I called SB and they said take it easy for 250-300 miles for break in and make sure its stop and go traffic so u use the clutch more.Mine was hard at first too but got easier after a while but like i said im having trouble with mine though.
i made 2 trips up into new york in the past day with it. total about 770 mi since the clutch change. the first 200 miles was mostly stop and go and the rest mostly highway with the exception of a couple town i go through to get home. do you think i should be good to go yet?
and ya i know its grabby. it tends to buck a little if i try to start or back up slow while slipping the clutch some. is this normal and will it improve?

Backing I always have to ride the clutch a little or it feels like I am backing at 20 MPHs... I would say you will get more used to the clutch, but it will buck a little. I've really had to re-learn the way i lcutch and add power to not get the truck to buck off the line. Or you can cheat and just use 1st... It does sound normal to me....

When I put mine in I gave it 30 miles of brake in before the smarty went on level 9. It is holding fine, grabby but no more than I figured. The petal pressure has yet to change, and I did have to re-learn how to drive it with the new clutch.
Is there a noise diference in the DD being in a NV vs a G56.Reason I ask is my buddy has the 3250 in a G56 and the noise is insane in neutral and while the pedal is depressed.Talked to Peter at TS Performance's event in Kentucky and he said the NV would be quieter.Just wondering if anybody has heard both trannys with a DD.I will be having to upgrade when I order the twins here in a few weeks.Just want to know what to expect.
500 miles means nothing if you hop on the highway and never take it out of gear... really doesn't take much to break one in. One time when we were having trouble with a dual disk setup, Peter overnighted us another and his instructions were to "beat the **** out of it"
I wouldn't bang gears and jump on the throttle too much (well, I don't anyway) but the point is as long as you are tuned to your truck and can QUICKLY recognize when/if you're slipping and INSTANTLY back out before you really put any heat in it, you'll be fine giving it all the fuel you've got right off the bat.
