48RE bypass filtration- pressure tap?
48RE bypass filtration- pressure tap?
Hello all--
I want to add a sub-micron type bypass filter to my 48RE transmission to catch the really fine crud that the screen type OEM filter won't catch. I have a source for a very effective but not overpriced filter (EP-NTZ ATF-009) that will filter a small flow of fluid down to very small particle size. Return line to the pan won't be hard to rig one way or another, but can anyone point me to a fitting on the 48RE housing where I could tap into a constant-pressure feed for the filter? I know I could probably "tee" into the cooler lines, but if there is simply a plug somewhere on the case of the 48RE, that would be far easier still. Thanks! Trevor in VT; kd1yt@pshift.com
