4" or 5" exhaust?
Looking at changing my exhuast, and was looking for some recomendations, I have no power adders at this point, and was wondering what I would loose or gain by going to 5" cat back or 4"inch
Thanks |
nothing but a bit of sound (deeper on the 5) if you are going cat back.
yup, sounds a lil bit better but thats all.
do 5" cat back looks and sounds good.
i would say go with the 5inch, why spend the money on a 4 inch system, plus if u start modifying your truck u will have the exhaust taken care of
From what I've been told the only difference between 4" and 5" is the deeper sound you get with the 5" and looks of course. Yet performance wise you'll gain nothing going 5" unless your putting down over 600hp to need the extra flow.

Thanks all for the info, I had heard that if I go with 5" I would loose some mid range torque,I tow a 5th wheel and dont want to loose any since I do not have any mods yet, I have a power puck and boost fooler but decided to take off until warranty is done and I have money for transmision improvements
Any recomendation on a 5" system? I was looking at the magnaflow Thanks again |
what kind of sound and quality are you looking for?i am a big fan of Rolling Big Power's system, it is 304 stainless steel , there are no fitment issues, and there system is top quality.since you live up north make sure what ever system you go with you get either the 304 stainless or black coated.

I like my magnaflow 5".

Go with a turbo back exhaust. I wouldn't waste the time with a cat back.
I have 4" tbe and wish I had 5".
will going with turbo back 5" make that much difference if I am keeping my 4" cat? vs. 5" cat back
If you REALLLLLLY want another exhaust system, you might as well go for a 5" since you already have a 4" system. But like said earlier, you don't need 5" unless you're making some serious HP. If you just like the looks, consider a 5" tip.
