[QUOTE=morkable;1318572]I am now on my 2nd set of toyos, I highly recommend them. They are a great all around tire, looks awesome too IMHO. And you should be able to get 50k miles on them with regular rotations, and dont spin them too much. I changed mine at 30 k, still a fair ammount of tread, but here the winters dictate that you have really good tires

+1 I'm on my second set, Toyo's are far superior to Nittos or BFGs on my truck.

My biggest concern is for my job I am required to have 45k miles before i order tires to get reimbursed.
I am trying to stay away from an aggressive tread and a square shoulder like the BFG has. The steering geometry is eating the outside edge of the BFG's. It has been aligned 3 times or is it 4? It has been way to much for 15k miles.
The BFG's were great on the 4x4 but the solid axle prevents the tire from leaning when turning and does a better job of keeping the tire square to the road!

I got a set of 285/70/17 Toyo Open Country AT's slapped on my rig today and I love them. Amazing what a nice set of tires will do for these trucks. Finally it looks as it should. Anyhow you might look at some of those somewhere reb. They're supposed to be good for at least 60K miles. The tread is not what I would call overly aggressive and they are just as quiet as the smoothie stocker 265's I pulled off. They're only D rated but that's plenty good for my needs.
I miss spoke about what tires I am running, they are Baja Clax MTZ. I know a place in hammond that will get them in 1 week if you want. I just ordered mine a month ago from them. PM me if you are interested.
I think that with proper maintenance you will be ok with the toyo's I dont see any reason not to get at least 50k miles out of them. Mine get a little bit more harsher use than most and I am still pretty sure I could get 50k miles out of them

I've had BFG M/T 's in that size on my truck for about 45,000 miles and I'm now tire shopping. They aren't 100% bald but there is only around 1/4" of tread depth left. Without the abuse I put mine through almost daily and regular rotations (I rotated ONCE) they would last 60k miles. For some reason the rear tires wear faster than the front?
I've towed a bunch of times with them and I've been really happy with how they handle the road. They are a little noisy, noticably more than the stockers. I've had BFG M/T's in a 35x12.5x16.5 size on my old chevies and they were great tires as far as traction and durability are concerned. But none of them were EVER round! I was very mad when I drove away from the tire joint and I felt the vibration. Sure enough, going slow, you can feel them. It's visible to the naked eye. I decided to live with it but I can't wait to get some new round tires soon!

Toyo Open country AT's were my choice although they didn't seem to last as long as I wanted on my last tow rig. The reason I went with them again is the E 10ply rating 3700lbs per tire on my single axle tow rig. They ride very nice and are very reliable. For me it's about safety and having the rating is more inportant to me than how fast the tire wares. I got 34K out of my last set on my Old tow rig (could have gotten more, anoter 15k but I always replace tires, specially on a tow rig early). My single rear axle load is 5600lbs on the scale with my TT hooked up and truck bed loaded. If I had a dually, the tire rating would not be as inportant as it is on a single axle truck. My.02
