2005 w/Smarty: Want more low end!
I've had a Smarty on my 2005 since 2008 (and a South Bend Con-OFE since a week after installing the Smarty). For towing my big 5th wheel (GCWR of about 23k), I put it in Mode 5. For regular driving I use Mode 7. All of the other sub-settings are left alone.
When I registered my truck in Arizona, they wanted it smogged, so I programmed it back to stock. I noticed while driving to the smog station that it drive EXACTLY like when it was programmed, as long as you kept it under 2200 or so RPM. Above that, however, it was a dog compared to programmed.
I remember when I had my 2001, it had a LOT more low-end torque. I had DD3 injectors, an Edge Comp, and HX40 turbo. What must I do to fatten up the bottom end on the 2005 a bit? I've heard you can stack some fueling boxes with the Smarty, but I've been out of it for so long I haven't kept up with what's available.
Thanks!
Rob
