2 Walbro 392 Lift pumps to Support Dual Cp3s?

I have a lot of mods on my truck yet not enough fuel supply. I presently have one walbro 392 lift pump. Instead of removing that and getting a fass or air dog 150 could I simply add another walbro 392 pump and tee into the stock filter housing? I can get a walbro pump for $120. Much cheaper that Fass or airdog.

Would 2 walbro pumps work the same as one fass or air dog pump?

I know someone has done this on here but I cannot find the write-up on it.

There have been a number of guys to have done this with success. I have no details on how they plumbed it-- I'm sure one of them will chime in.

I did it about 2 years ago with pretty good luck. After that I went to the air dog and retained one of the Walbro's as a back up/emergency plan. I came out of the tank with (2) -8 suction lines going to the pumps. After that I went out of the pumps with -6 lines and fed them into a filter/separator followed by feeding them into the pumps.

The Walbro's have check valves built in, so I only ran one for normal street use and brought the other one on as needed.

So the airdog is better than the 2 walbro pumps? only thing is the airdog is $400 more than one additional walbro. But if it works better I guess I will just go that route.

I think "better" is relative. I switched over from a single Walbro to an AirDog150 for the benefit of removing water, particulates, vapor and entrained air, as well as the increase in gph. I am extremely happy with my AirDogII! It is quiet, flows ALOT of fuel, and pressure is easily adjustable...and it came in a box with everything needed for a quick/easy install. Only drawback was the price.

With that being said, the Walbro is a great pump. I think it puts out around 75gph, and you can barely hear the thing running. I could only get my single Walbro to pull down to 10psi when I was just over 700hp. I used 1/2" line from the pump to the cp3's to keep volume up. Plumbing in a 2nd Walbro would definitely be cheaper than ditching the one you have and purchasing a whole new setup. Here's some additional reading to help in your decision, click here
