06 5.9l cummins 2500 high mileage ?

So I'm looking at buying a 3/4 ton for towing my travel trailer. Preferably a turbo diesel. I'm trying to stay away from ford after their 6.0 truck. I have a 06 Nissan titan which has 160000 mi. Which I havent had any problems at all. I'm gonna trade it in on this 06 ram 2500 with 177,000 mi. Its super clean but as you all know its hard finding a 3/4 or 1 ton truck around $20,000.00 with under 150000 mi. Just want to see what opinions this thread has and if they recommend dodge. The truck I'm looking at has the 5.9l . I'm very impressed with the Nissan titan. Had it for 5 years and put 80,000mi on it with no issues. But as we grow up and work you realize you need a bigger truck. Which comes more expense. Anyways here's the truck I'm looking at. Tell me what you guys think. I'm worried about high mileage but for low mileage vehicles its out of my budget. Sucks.

Looks like a well maintained vehicle and worth the price. No emissions on 5.9 that alone is worth its weight in gold. I have several in shop right now with over 400k on them and still running strong. The 6.7 are great engines but unless you are willing to delete it you will have problems with EGR valve, EGR cooler, SCR and DPF, and many sensors that will someday fail. and expensive service work to emission components. I work on these trucks every day for past 30 years so I'm not BS you. They have been my bread and butter but I miss the days when the trucks came in for service and not warranty work. After 100k and 5 years the engine repairs are on you. If you have the cash I would go for it. Plus if you take care of it and do all required service work you can sell it in 5 years and get most of your money back.

I appreciate the comment. I did a little research on the engines and that's why I went with the 5.9l over the 6.7l. But I guess ill just get it and go from there. You know what they say. When it comes to vehicles. You either buy a bad one or a good one. 🍻 hope dodge lives up to its name. Not worried about the Cummins. 😂

ive had and owned my 05 for about 200K now with lots of towing. the motor isnt a concern, correct. its the wrapping that has been issue. I plan on keeping and hauling forever. My biggest issues have been accessory belts failing shortly after i got it, a fuel line busting and leaving me stranded, steering linkage fail leaving me stranded and Rust on the tops of my doors.

pic looks great of course. id be less concerned with mileage and more with finding signs on how well its been maintained or thrashed over the years.
