I wrecked my 01 CTD 2wd. Gonna part it out but pull the drivetrain for a swap into my 89 Ramcharger. Wife went and got me an 05 CTD crew cab 4wd 6speed. This is the first CR I have owned. So new to the CR's Soooo. I feel like such a newb asking this.

What are the minimum gauges for a CR. boost EGT and now that I have a manual I don't need tranny temp. Fuel pressure, rail pressure? Is rail pressure only needed for when adding a programmer? Any other recommendations for gauges. Looking at putting them up on the windshield, and maybe if needed on the dash by the windshield.

Definitely need a pyro, boost, and FP gauge to have some base numbers to go off of. RP gauge can help you diagnose an injector or pump issue if they occur. I also added an oil psi gauge too and for reasons I don't have time to get into right now I'm very glad I had it!!!!

OK so a rail pressure is a good to have since I will eventually add a programmer. What should the lift pump pressure be at? Trying to figure what range of gauges to get. Thanks again. Fun learning about a new vehicle. All over again..

Stock LP pressure should be around 10psi at idle IIRC. Some argue that the stocker can/can't keep up with a programmer. Mine would not so I upgraded to an AD150 about 5-6 years ago and have no real issues since. I did up grade to FluxII injectors and do see a drop in RP.....I guess it's pump time. Not looking forward to spending that kinda cash since I just dropped $1300 on tires 3 days ago.

Back on track.....My boost is a 0-60psi, FP is 0-30 psi, pyro is 0-1600, oil is 0-100 psi, and RP is 0-30k psi. With the turbo I have I could easily hit 40-45 psi but then my IC and head gasket would be the weak link. You should never see any more 20-25 psi of fuel pressure on the low side and safely, you should never really see anything above 26k psi on the high side. When I was towing heavy with the stock turbo the pyro would run around 1100-1200* on any given day. A couple weeks back I hauled my buddies farm tractor on the 45' GN and pulling hills I never saw anything higher than 1200* on the pyro with the FluxII's and current charger. I was pretty happy with that. My probe is mounted between #5-6 hole on the manifold since they tend to run hotter.

Thanks guys I would appreciate the pics.
On my 01 had FP in the cubby hole and a BD X monitor. thinking of the 4 overhead windshield mounts. Along with some factory match gauges.
