03 Lift Pump Replacement
I know this has been done to death, I just want to confirm my thinking if anyone has the time and patience.
I have an 03 with the fuel pump on the back of the fuel/water separator.
That should mean there is no in-tank pump - Correct?
How would I confirm this?
Next...I am thinking of installing a Walbro 392 with pressure regulator near the tank.
Further research shows I need to remove the lift pump and find a Fuel Filter Canister Inlet Fitting. Will see if the dealer has it and keep looking.
Closer...
Your help is appreciated.

Correct, no in tank pump if you have the original canister mount pump.
If you order the Glacier Diesel Power kit it comes with the canister fitting to replace the OEM pump. http://store.dieseltruckresource.com/20gdppelipus.html

I went this route years ago. Easy to install, everything you need is there. Stone axe reliable.

I checked that link
http://store.dieseltruckresource.com/20gdppelipus.html
and they dont carry that kit anymore.
But I did find this
http://www.glacierdieselpower.com/pr...?pf_id=03045FA
I am going to call/email them and confirm it is the piece I want.
Glacier Diesel told me to try to bump the engine watch. The fuel pump pumped fuel for about 22 seconds which they say means the pump is ok.
I am going to close this thread and start a new one with the full story and go from there.

OK. So ordered the DRP. Installed it.
Removed fuel tank and cleaned it out.
Removed canister to give a through cleaning.
Reinstalled all bits.
Bumped engine to prime everything.
Bumped again to ensure it was primed.
Started right up.
Now it seems to be a rather loud upper end knocking sound. I'm a gas guy so it sounds like valve train. Not piston knock nor lower end knock. Up top definitely.
Adjust valves? Never done it on a diesel...
