$2k for tranny upgrades. What to do?
Ok gents, I know I should have a HP goal before even starting this, but Im going to ask. With about 2k to spend on tranny upgrades on the truck in my sig, what is the most bang for my buck? The ultimate goal is reliability and having a little fun now and again. Would it be a waste to spend that money vice saving twice that and buying a whole new tranny?
Thanks!
Thanks!

For 4,500 bucks, Goerend will build you a killer tranny, for a thousand more, you can get an ATS stage 4.
If you are needing to piece one together, I can't really help you on that one... TC and a valve body, I guess. That's almost 2k on the nose from Goerend. (plus a core for the TC.) They might help you out a little, tho. Call Lary before you buy anywhere.

Unless you know a good tranny guy around here, I'd just order the whole thing and be done with it. I know you don't want to drop that kind of coin...
BTW... I have a soccer ball at the house that is not mine...

I dont race and I dont sled pull, so its hard for me to justify a full tranny if my power goals are mild. I want to be able to tow and be albe to not get punked out by ricers. Not looking to set any land speed records. Its really gonna depend on how long I spend in the tax free zone on the next sight seeing tour.

Sounds like the same boat I was in a couple of years ago. I put the build off for a year and did what is in my signature. Do a VB, TC, flexplate, and billet input with all the little goerend goodies. I was too afraid I would break it if I skimped on the build, so I waited and saved.
