Transmission tq lock/unlock
Wow, what a nightmare, I wish I still had my 96!
Drive truck home 45-75f temperature, drive for say 35-40 mins and tq will unlock twice maybe 3 times Same spots nearly, not exact location but close. Doesnt do it on the way in..???. I even kept phone off in case, added a ferrite next to APP, added a noise suppressor right at alternator. Cleaned battery terminals, cleaned ground terminals ...***. Check for codes, none.
Bought truck used, 224,000 miles, stock trans, no real modifications
It is the four door model, nothing fancy. Drive it into work, no issues. If it was the valve body should have a code yes? I think its the tq, or maybe signal to kick out trans?? Anyone? Thanks in advance.

new stuff
2007.5 Cummins, 4 door., DPF delete done last year. Used two prgmers to read any codes, all I got is 'mass air flow', which I have ordered because any engine lights bugs the cra$$
outa me.
Okay, drove today went different route, started its crap right away, its is raining out. POS did it for 15mins until I got to the highway, on the on ramp its does it 4 times..get on get it to 75mph and no issues for 10-15min, on the off ramp it does it. It finally goes into limp mode..?..and stays in 4th gear, 2500rpm at 60 mph. Stop at light, take off it shifts again for 2 miles then back to 4th gear...***..Didn't do much today to it. I read codes, no code other than the mass air flow...zilch...really. I guess it REALLY hates the rain.

Go have the TCM codes read (probably at a trans shop). You don't know what you're dealing with until you know what they are.
BTW tuners make lousy code readers. Buy real one or go to a local parts store and have them read your ecm codes with a REAL code reader. You're in limp mode, you should be showing the generic trans code which points you to reading the TCM codes.
FWIW, if you stop talking all the crap about the truck, start working smarter to find the problem and stop insulting the one guy on here that can (and will) help you, then TransEngineer will probably chime in and get you pointed in the right direction.
If I were you I'd get the codes, either change your name or go to another forum and start another thread asking for TA's help.

Well update...tried all the voodoo stuff that some have had luck with, none of it worked for me. Took truck to a decent transmission repair garage, he said it needed to be pulled. I simply stated "gotta do what ya gotta do", he found some failed pieces, even tho I have never towed anything substantial, but my carcass. BUT I also noticed someone had worked on it, when I bought it, NO transmission problems, happened after I put 15,000 miles on it. Im pretty sure someone knew transmissions and hacked it together to sell it. I suggest leaving all the voodoo garbage alone, its a waste of time . IF it worked for them, they got lucky or actually did something they thought about as no big deal, which really fixed it. Dont guess...usually a wastes of time anyhow!
