Tow/haul

Just curious; the TOW/HAUL button's use is obvious, but what exactly does it do to your truck? What effect does it have on shifting and the EB? I've never had to think about it before. My last truck was an older diesel with no EB, and all I had to do was remember to leave it out of overdrive.

It firms the upshifts and downshifts, changes the shift points and holds the gears longer.
I only use my tow/haul when I have a trailer behind me. Otherwise the downshifting is too aggressive. It will actually chirp the tires on my truck downshifting if the pavement is hot. (then the wife gives me "the look")

From what I've noticed, it also makes the engine brake more aggressive. I run the e/b all the time, even when not towing.

Thanks. I've started using the EB more since people here recommend it to keep the parts moving.

Oh, and I get "the look" often, but not about my truck...yet.

You'll notice that in regular mode the EB will only hold the gear you are in and not downshift to slow you down. It tends to keep the RPMS above the 2k mark for shifts and like what was said firmer shifts. IF you like the smoother shifts, the use the regular mode and use the autostick to shift down.

Typical for me is T/H and manual set to 4 for town with EB. I like the firmer shifts myself.
