Surge in power after starting?

Hello,

After starting and I put the truck in gear and touch the throttle it sometimes surges like I gave it twice the pedal than I actually did. Has anyone experienced this issue. It does not do this at any other time. Any thoughts?

Yeah, on mine too, but I have the 6sp. It is most noticable while on what had been called "The Super Slab" (now called "The Super Parking Lot" during comute time. When starting out in 2nd with intentions to only creep at an idle, it will surge to faster than I want. I have to hit the clutch, wait for the CTD to come back to 750, then let out the clutch. I then can creep at 1/3 to 1/2 the 'surge' speed.
Anybody for a cup? [coffee]

I had mine in the shop about a month ago after the egr plugged up, anyhow they updated to the new flash and it started doing what you describe, and a few time I have lost total throttle response, I could put the pedal to the floor and it would sit at idle, anyhow I notice that it would surge almost like the powerband on a two stroke, here I am a month later and the surge took out my clutch, 15K miles on it, so now it's time to update to a south bend [verymad]
