I've seemed to develope a strange feeling like axle wrap in the rear of my 07. It came just after I switched from my 37's to my new winter 35's?? Checked all my u bolts and they are super tight. Never felt this before. It happens when I stop at a light and then go. It feels like axle wrap. Could it be my tranny slowly giving out?? I'm at a loss for ideas???

 

Are the lug nuts tight?

 

You bet. I checked them at 50 miles after they were installed torqued to 140ft/lbs. No loose nuts there. I'm pretty stumped. I'm guessing it's tranny related because I never felt anything like it on my 01 6 speed and it had twice the HP...

 

I checked all the obvious stuff too like the driveshaft bolts and I have new ujoints on the rear shaft too...

 

Do you have enough air in your rear tires? Maybe the sidewalls are a lot weaker than your others tires....

I hate to say it, but I'd double check the u joints, just in case.
I have had "new " joints that did not operate smoothly, perhaps to tight, they were fine after replacement.

try putting your old tires back on to see if this still happens... this will allow you to figure out if it's a drive line problem or if its something to do with your wheels and tires!!

 

Are both sets of tires E Rated? Maybe softer sidewalls in the 35s?
