Stock EGT's

Hey all I've searched on here and only found the EGT's for mainly trucks that have been modified. I just put factory match gauges in my truck today and am wondering if this is normal temps or not. My truck is bone stock for now, I wanted to get the gauges in it before I do the delete's and a smarty SR.

Driving through town at about 50 km it is at 900F and on the highway crusing at 100 km it is at 1050-1100F. If I go from a stop to WOT it will climb well past 1300F, that's when I let off because I didn't want it to keep climbing.

Any help with this matter is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

That sound pretty close to what I am seeing with my stock 07.5 except in regen it will go as high 1280-1340. Mine usually stays right under 1000 normal driving

I'd say your ok. I have heard temps of 1400 plus during regen. My 08 would run over 1200 degrees at the exhaust cans. Never put the pyro in till deleted but the edge display showed the probes at all 3 cans. All would exceed 1100 often.

If it's stock let it run where it wants/needs to.

I have read of several owners driving off EGT's on 6.7's on stock tuning, and in the end they are hurting the performance, increasing soot buildup, and increasing regen duration/frequency.

OK thanks guys was just a little worried because everything I've read on here shows lower numbers. But that is on deleted trucks and I know that with all that junk deleted it should run a lot cooler. Yesterday morning I ran it to work on the highway at 100km/ 64mph and it was right around 1300F. Don't know maybe when I installed the gauges it was getting ready to regn and that's why the temp is higher.

Thanks again guys.

I see very similar EGT's with stock truck. Now have 78K on the clock and no problems.

When I was stock, towing it would easily get to 1400 during a regen. Don't worry about it, the computer will dial back the fuel and keep the temps where needed for a regen. Just cruising around anywhere from 900 to 1250 ish. Once the deletes were done I think I saw 1300 once. That and my oil stays nice and clean for 2500 miles.
