So my 07.5 is acting up. From a stop when I hit the gas it Boggs out and sounds like the exhaust break is on then the turbo kicks in and it's fine. Could that be a clogged DPF? or fuel filter?

 

sounds like the turbo is clogged up....or at least sticking.

Do you have teh deletes?
Put a heavy trailer on it and get the EGTs up and see if you cant burn some soot off. If you dont have the deletes you cant baby it!

 

Thanks. Ya I don't have any deletes I'd sure like to soon tho. I don't really baby it and my wife definitely doesn't baby it! I'll hook up the trailer tomorrow and clean some **** out.

 

It may just need a cleaning from the dealer with the appropriate fitting and fluids. It is a wear item and may need service.

 

Mine did this, and eventually threw a code. It surged and made strange sounds like a turbine engine compressor stall every now and again. Finally the light came on and I took it in, they did a turbo clean but within an hour of picking it up the light was on again. They hooked it up to the computer and it came up with a "replace turbo" remedy... Glad it was under warranty. They changed the turbo and the issue seems to have disappeared...
