P2262 code and other warnings
Guys,
If you end up getting this code DO NOT FREAK OUT. I have heard of dealers wanting to replace turbo's due to this and putting a truck out of commision. I just got new exhaust and flash last weekend. Got the truck on Tuesday night and Friday afternoon it threw the 2262 72 hours after just being in. So ****** off as hell i went to a different dealer that i trusted more. After telling me that i could not have the codes read until Wednesday i said BS and walked straight into the GM's office. I told him the same speal how it had been 72 hours since i got it back from another dealer and he certainly made things right.
Told me to go around back with my truck and i did and there was a truck tech waiting with the reader. Plugged it in and he ran the routine. First he cleared the check engine light and checked for problems with the turbo. Next i had him check to see if i had rev.B put in correctly (they did) and then he also told me that they forgot to clear the underlaying codes for the exhaust problem and that the cel would have came back on soon(knew they jacked something up). Then he told me just take it out and hot rod the hell out of it for 20 miles or so and see if the turbo boost code would throw again. Got back and no more codes and all has been well for the last 300+miles.
Bottom line with these 6.7's and advise that all new owners/buyers should expect. EXPECT something to go wrong with your exhaust at least until they figure something out for it. When you get the Catlyst 90% on the overhead just take it straight in and have them work on it.
Next the 2262 code that some have been freaking out about seems to kinda be a ghost code that a sensor will pick up and then forget about. Check your codes every once in a while after it happens and i bet it will go away from what the tech said. Definately still very drivable unless you notice something wrong.
Also, i know its a pain in the butt but it is good to have things checked twice. Especially if you dont trust the dealer doing the work.
